How to Throw a New Year’s Eve Party on a Budget
Going out for New Year’s Eve can cost hundreds of dollars if you do it up big. If you want to save money this year but still have fun with your friends, consider hosting your own New Year’s Eve party on a budget.
Reuse Holiday Decorations
You don’t have to put away all of your Christmas supplies before New Year’s. Leave out the pieces with the most sparkle and don’t take down the lights. Light a few candles to add even more light.
Have a Carry-In
Tell your guests it is a carry-in party and ask them to bring their favorite appetizer or dessert to share. Have them bring their own drinks, too.
Make a Champagne Punch
While your friends might bring some other drinks, provide the champagne in the form of a punch. Not only will it help stretch out the booze, but it tastes delicious, too. This simple recipe combines a bottle of champagne with ginger ale and frozen strawberries.
Have a Photobooth
Gather items from around your house to create a fun photo booth scene. A sheet hung on the wall works great. Get a few inexpensive props at the dollar store to complete the fun.
